Alex Job Racing Audi R8 LMS Ready for 12 hours at Sebring

Alex Job Racing drivers Bill Sweedler (Westport, Conn.), Townsend Bell (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and Frankie Montecalvo (Highlands, N.J.) are ready for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring to run March 18.

The team is coming off of a successful IMSA test at Sebring four weeks ago that had them toward the top of the time sheet in the four test sessions. The team, under the direction of Alex Job, has won the central Florida classic ten times. The mid-engine Audi R8 LMS is an ideal package for the rough 3.5-mile, 17-turn track located 90 minutes south of Orlando.

"I was really happy to have the chance to do the Sebring test," Bell said. "We learned a lot about our new Audi there and feel we're in good shape to head back for the race. Alex is the captain of sports cars and he has guided the ship to ten wins at Sebring. We trust in the captain and if we simply follow his instructions, we should find paradise."

Montecalvo likes the team's chances this weekend.

"I always love racing at Sebring, it is really synonymous with sports car racing," Montecalvo said. "I can't say I love going back there every year, but I do like driving the race track. I was on the podium there in 2010 with Jon Bennett and Ryan Dalziel in LMPC. I think the Audi R8 LMS is great car for Sebring. At Daytona we had zero hiccups with the car. Sebring is very bumpy and takes a toll on the car, but Audi has built a great race car. We worked really hard on turns one and 17 at the test. The team has a winning history at Sebring and I think we will have a very competitive race car this weekend."

Sweedler and Bell won at Sebring in their first drive together back in 2012.

"Sebring holds a special place in my racing heart," Sweedler said. "Townsend and I won there our first time racing together five years ago and since then we have won a championship, the Rolex 24 and Le Mans. We had a very successful test four weeks ago and we have a good baseline on the Audi to start the weekend. I am confident with the expertise of Alex and the team so we can get a second win there on Saturday."

Team owner, Alex Job, is a part of Sebring history. Not only does he have ten wins his team was inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame last year.

"Sebring has always been one of the toughest events of the year," Job said. "We have been fortunate enough to win it ten times. Bill, Frankie and Townsend really put in a lot of laps at the test, so I feel really good about the race this year. There will be a big field and a lot of competition in GTD, but we know how to navigate that old track for 12 hours."

The IMSA WeatherTech Sport Car Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring will run March 15-18. The race will be televised on Fox Sports 1 starting at 12 p.m. and air the finish at 11 p.m.
