The Racers Group Looks to Conquer the Famed Laguna Seca Corkscrew with Both Aston Martin and Lamborg

TRG plans to extend their success at Laguna Seca this weekend by bringing double the artillery: in addition to the Aston Martin V12 Vantage competing in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in GTD class, the team is also debuting a new Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America entry. The California-based crew is excited for this expansion into new racing territory with the powerful, 620 HP, V10 Lamborghini Huracán as the team prepares for the quick trip down to Laguna Seca from their Bay Area headquarters. Team driver Derek DeBoer will divide time in the Lamborghini with James Davison, who he shared an Aston Martin with at this track in 2014. In the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 will be James Davison with Brandon Davis, who took pole position for TRG in the 2013 Laguna Seca race with a Vantage GT4. All of these drivers have experience with the track, and the team’s long history of success including back to back victories in both 2011 and 2012 in the ALMS GTC class in the classic six-hour endurance race. This event and venue are truly driver and fan favorites. Anyone who’s familiar with the Laguna Seca track can appreciate that watching drivers race down the seven-story drop at the famous corkscrew turn in either a V12 Vantage or a V10 Huracán will be an unforgettable experience. The Racers Group plans to amplify that incredible feeling even further by bringing their Sonoma-based Adobe Road Winery tasting room right into the race paddock. Invited guests will love the wine country-themed experience while enjoying up-close access to the legendary Aston Martin and the brand-new Lamborghini. Team sponsors Los Gatos Luxury Cars will be represented on both cars, as well as LaSalle Solutions, Crowdstrike, RingCentral, Pirata Della Strada, and BRM Chronographes. The result of the partnership between TRG and BRM will be on hand, literally — Derek DeBoer will be displaying a model of the new SP-44-TRG super lightweight chronograph throughout the race weekend.

Kevin Buckler, TRG-AMR CEO: “This is our track! We always love coming to Laguna Seca, a purpose-built, natural terrain racing circuit and with such great history. This is where TRG was originally based back when I first started racing professionally in the early 90’s. We have won many times here and in several of the last big GT races as well. Derek and James have been working diligently to prepare for our first run with this brand-new Lamborghini and Brandon and James should be a fantastic combo in our Aston Martin 007 GTD car. We are honored to be representing both of these amazing brands this weekend in the two different classes and we are going to give it our best to make everybody proud. The crew have been working around the clock back and forth across the country — these are some of the hardest working guys in motorsports! I know we have a really good shot of doing well here this weekend. We also have a fantastic group of partners, friends and family here this weekend and a special shout out to our friends at LaSalle! Everything is in place, we are prepared, let’s go out there and get a win or two.” The race weekend fun is sandwiched between work and play for The Racers Group. On April 27, the Business Development team hosted their 2016 Partner Summit presented by Hotels for Hope at the Yahoo! headquarters in Silicon Valley. Invited speakers included executives in the tech, marketing, hospitality and media fields, plus discussion panels with The Racers Group drivers. On May 5th, the cars and crew return to Laguna Seca for a rare, unlimited-sound driving day, where guests can try racing down that corkscrew descent for themselves. The fleet of Aston Martin Vantages and new Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport cars will be joined by the stunning Lamborghini, all available to drive. This is an event not to be missed by anyone who enjoys the thrill of driving with unlimited sound and incredible horsepower.
