This race season, PitFit Training will increase its involvement with race team KVSH Racing in the Verizon IndyCar Series. Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, PitFit Training has been an industry leader since 1993 in the development and implementation of motorsports-specific human performance training. Although the facility is known for its famous list of race car driver clients, the team has also been training crew members for the better part of two decades.

PitFit Training and KVSH Racing joined forces in 2008, and today in a sport where every millisecond counts, PitFit continues to be heavily involved in the fitness of the crew with the Pit Crew Conditioning Program.

"Our relationship with KVSH Racing has created a strong partnership over the years," said PitFit Founder and President Jim Leo. "We have always strived to produce the best program possible, and this includes knowing first-hand the intricacies of efficient pit stops."

Alex Wanee, longtime Human Performance Coach at PitFit Training and a co-director of the Pit Crew Conditioning Program, has been involved with the fitness development of the KVSH Racing crew and this year will join the team as the inside front tire changer for the No. 11 Hydroxycut car driven by Sebastian Bourdais. Leo will serve as a backup changer should the need arise during the season.

"This will definitely be a new and exciting experience for me," said Wanee. "The crew has done an awesome job getting me up to speed heading into the first race at St. Petersburg. I'm thrilled to be working with such a good group of guys and a team like KVSH Racing."

"It's an honor the team is confident enough in our work to put Alex in this role," said Leo. "We will both be up to the task. It speaks to the quality of our program that our clients not only choose us to train them, but choose us to participate alongside them when it counts.

The increased role will also allow PitFit Training to spend extra time with clients at the race events, including KVSH Racing driver Matthew Brabham, who will race with the team in the Indianapolis Grand Prix and the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. The schedule for the 2016 season includes 16 race events across North America, starting with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg this weekend. Watch live on ABC, Sunday, March 13th at 12:30PM Eastern.
