Racing in front of a bevy of friends and family at his home track, Michael Marsal scored the biggest victory of his career to date on Saturday as he combined with Dane Cameron for an IMSA TUDOR United SportsCar Championship victory at Lime Rock Park with Turner Motorsport. With his full-season co-pilot Markus Paltalla in race action at the 24 Hours of Spa, 2014 IMSA TUDOR Champion Dane Cameron stepped in as co-driver as he returned to the team he won the championship with last year. Sharing the No. 97 Alvarez & Marsal / IHG Rewards Club BMW Z4 with Cameron, the weekend did not get off to an ideal start after a practice crash caused significant damage to the distinctive yellow and blue Turner Motorsport machine. But the Turner boys worked their magic once again, not only repairing the car in time to be ready to go for the morning warm-up (which saw the No. 97 end the session on top), but also calling a race strategy that saw Cameron cross the line just four seconds clear of the field for the win. "This is unbelievable!” said Marsal in his interview with IMSA Radio’s Greg Creamer. “It is a triumph over adversity, just truly spectacular. I can't thank the Turner Motorsport crew enough, they worked until 3 this morning fixing the car after we had a wreck in practice yesterday. And to come back and to get the win, it's truly fantastic. I have to thank the crew more than anybody here. My heart is beating out of my chest! To win at my home track, and to have my entire family here, Turner has 50 guests here, it's incredible. The Turner guys work their butts off - it's just unbelievable!” The victory is the second big win for Marsal at Lime Rock Park with Turner Motorsport, having won the 2010 Continental SportsCar Challenge race with Joey Hand at the track. Marsal will return to race action in two weeks’ time when the TUDOR Championship heads to Road America August 9. FOX Sports 1 will televise the event on Sunday, July 26 at 5:00 PM ET.
