This weekend the Verizon IndyCar Series will make their race debut in the bayou state at the NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans, LA. It is round two of the series and the first natural-terrain road course on the schedule. Being early April, the weather could play a major factor in the outcome of the race. The track at NOLA Motorsports Park is a 2.75 mile 16-turn layout. It features a monster 5,200' straightaway that will test vehicle's drafting, aerodynamic drag, and the driver's timing when using the push-to-pass feature during the race. BHA had an awesome test at NOLA the week before the St. Petersburg race. Engineer John Dick and Gabby found an excellent balance with the car and new Honda aero kit, and the team left "unofficially" as the fastest car. NOLA is the first of three race weekends in a row, and it's important for Gabby and the BHA team to take advantage of the new circuit where everyone is equal to score a strong finish... Gabby Chaves: "Our test went well at NOLA and that should help us start out the weekend more competitively. Additionally, what we learned in the first race will be especially helpful for race strategy. I think that NOLA being a new track on the schedule will be a good thing for us since other drivers don't have years of experience around here and that levels the playing field a little. We learned in St Pete about tire management which may play a big role at NOLA too and allow for some close racing with plenty of opportunities to overtake." Bryan Herta: “We are looking forward to the inaugural race at NOLA. Gabby and the team were very happy with the test days they had at the circuit, and of course the festive atmosphere of New Orleans should be the perfect backdrop for the race. Focus for this weekend will be on qualifying well and building upon Gabby's first event in St Pete.”
