Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (More fiber makes drivers go faster)

With the debut of the new aero kits and 2015 season, Indycar gave a good show in St. Pete with the track record (set during the Champ Car era) being broken by all drivers of Roger Penske's juggernaut of dominance. Will Power had the pole and led most of the race until teammate Juan Pablo Montoya obtained the lead and kept it for himself, winning the outing of the season. By now, you know all of this already, so let's chat about the cars, debris and solution to said debris flying over the fencing of high speed areas. Put netting in-between the fencing at the top. Now that I saved IndyCar money in medical bills and possible lawsuits, let's talk about cautions caused by debris. It's inevitable, move on. That's two subjects already nixed off in a couple of sentences! (I'm no hero, I'm just flapping my typing fingers, making sense spark with each press of a key.)

Now, THE RACING... While Penske showed dominance at the front, there is still a cerebral ton to learn about the aerodynamics and how to utilize them, other teams will get more comfortable with the new tech and improve their performance. The racing is still as intense and valuable as ever, so the on track product at present is still fantastic. With it being the first race, we can't tell everything we're going to see this year at different courses, but we can tell that it will be close to the competitiveness of last year. I'm not going to get into the debate about penalties and the “he said/she said” because, even though I still get too excited about kiddie breakfast cereals, I'm a grown up and don't want to join the schoolyard jabbering. It was a good debut of the season, drivers and cars, not a blockbuster of course, but we saw the excitement and competition.

Next week is another debut, the first race at NOLA in Nawlins... Newahleens... New Orleans! IndyCar will get it's Jambalaya on in Louisiana and will jerk the cars around the corners whilst (hopefully) serving drunken chicken at the food stands. Will Penske reign superior showing they are an unstoppable force? Or will maybe the CFHR, Ganassi or Andretti teams find their footing and level the field? Either way, seriously, serve drunken chicken at the track.

There you go! Thanks for reading as usual!... or sorry for reading if you are bitter and not a pleasant race fan, (please return unread portion for a full refund.)
