Continuing a relationship that began in 2012, the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and TOTAL Specialties USA (a subsidiary of the TOTAL Group) today announced a three-year partnership extension that makes TOTAL the Official Engine Oil of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge through the 2017 season.

TOTAL Specialties USA – with US headquarters in Houston, Texas – also will continue sponsorship of the TOTAL Pole Award given at each event to the pole winners in the TUDOR Championship Prototype (P), GT Daytona (GTD) and Prototype Challenge (PC) classes and the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge.

A season-long TOTAL Pole Award will be presented at the TUDOR Night of Champions to the TUDOR Championship drivers in the P, GTD and PC classes with the most poles throughout the 2015 season.

“It’s no secret that TOTAL is globally recognized for its presence in motorsports, aligning with industry leaders from Formula One and international sports car competition,” said David Pettit, IMSA VP of Marketing. “This longstanding relationship has been a great recognition platform for our class pole award winners throughout the previous three seasons and we couldn’t be more pleased to continue that relationship for the next three seasons.”

“Three years ago, we set out on a journey to find a partner and establish a relationship with a premier series whose goals and offerings were in line with our plans and beliefs,” said Leslie Quiros, US Director of Marketing & Communications for TOTAL. “We began our journey by joining forces with GRAND-AM Road Racing. Today, through IMSA, we’re proud to be the Official Engine Oil of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge. We’re especially thrilled to be the presenting sponsor of the TOTAL Pole Award Winner in both series. Performance counts and it’s something that we recognize every day at TOTAL.”

Next up for IMSA and the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship is the Tequila Patrón Sports Car Showcase at Long Beach on April 18.
